‘The Boss’ Red Band Trailer Gives Peter Dinklage a Samurai Sword

By February 12, 2016

At this point, after dominating the comedy scene over the past few years, Melissa McCarthy is hit or miss with her projects nowadays. Sometimes we’ll get something like Spy, which was a refreshing twist on the spy genre, and then other times, we’ll get something like Tammy. The latter of which I’d like to stop thinking about right now please.

The actress is going to have a big year in 2016 though with not only the Paul Feig-directed Ghostbusters reboot, but also The Boss, written and directed by her husband, Ben Falcone.

A new red band trailer for the film has been released online today as well, and you can check it out below:

Even though he’s in it for probably a total of two seconds, Peter Dinklage still manages to be my favorite part of this trailer, which is all-in-all, not that funny or remarkable. The last time Falcone directed something, we got Tammy, which was an unfunny and dramatic mess of a movie. This time around he’s going full bore into the comedy realm though, and it looks like The Boss is either going to be one of the best comedies of the year, or one of the worst. I really don’t see this film going any other way.

On the bright side though, it’s got a solid supporting cast around McCarthy’s seemingly unlikable character, including Kristen Bell and Kristen Schaal, who always seems to improve the projects they’re in.

The Boss is set to hit theatres on April 8th.
