The ‘Deadwood’ Movie Is Definitely Going To Happen

By January 8, 2016

Talking with, HBO programming president Michael Lombardo himself confirmed that fans of the short lived Deadwood are about to finally get themselves a movie. He says he’s given the shows creator David Milch his full support:

David has our commitment that we are going to do it. He pitched what he thought generally the storyline would be – and knowing David, that could change. But it’s going to happen.

It’s quite easy to add Deadwood to the ever growing list of shows that ended too soon and fans aren’t the only ones feeling it. Lombardo went on to say that while nothing has happened yet and Milch is currently on another project; he believes it’s on the horizon:

The understanding is that when he is done with that he will turn his attention to [writing the] script for the Deadwood film.

It sounds like everything is coming together just right but what about the cast? You’re talking some talented people with busy schedules to suddenly get back on track:

I’m going to leave that in David’s hands. He’s confident he will be able to. The cast is unbelievably [tight]. Some casts and creators form a bond that becomes relevant for the rest of their lives. This was a defining moment for a lot of them.

It’s going to take a full passion bucket to pull this off but everyone seems up for the challenge. Looks like you’re going to get yourself a Deadwood movie, friend.

Would you rather the show come back to HBO or are you psyched for the film format? Stay tuned to GeekNation for more updates!
