‘The X-Files’ Revival Trailers Show Mulder and Scully Reuniting

By September 28, 2015

The X-Files may be one of the most beloved shows ever to grace the small screen. It created long-time stars out of David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, and has managed to thrive on for years after its original finale. Not bad for a 90s TV show about aliens. So to say that fans of the series have been excited for next year’s X-Files revival, would be an understatement, as they’ve waited (somewhat) patiently to see their two favorite agents back on the hunt.

The revival will act as more of a miniseries than anything else, but will feature the return of Duchovny and Anderson back as Mulder and Scully, alongside new additions to the cast including Joel McHale, Robbie Amell, Kumail Nanjiani, Mitch Pileggi, Lauren Ambrose, Annabeth Gish, Rhys Darby, and more.

The first official teasers for the revival series have finally debuted very recently, and offers fans new glimpses at the reunion of the two characters, and Mulder’s ever present paranoia. Check them out below:

Here’s the revival’s official synopsis:

“Thirteen years after the original series run, the next mind-bending chapter of THE X-FILES is a thrilling, six-episode event series from creator/executive producer Chris Carter, with stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson re-inhabiting their roles as iconic FBI Agents FOX MULDER and DANA SCULLY. Mitch Pileggi also returns as FBI ASST. DIR. WALTER SKINNER, Mulder and Scully’s boss, who walks a fine line between loyalty to these investigators and accountability to his superiors. This marks the momentous return of the Emmy- and Golden Globe Award-winning pop culture phenomenon, which remains one of the longest-running sci-fi series in network television history.”

The mystery, the drama, Mulder’s charm, and Scully’s strength – they’re all there. These trailers might just be everything X-Files fans have been wanting and more. Both trailers also hint at the unseen rift that has reportedly occurred between the partners from when we saw them last, and it looks like Mulder has been on his own personal crusade to solve a mystery that has been haunting him for years.

Who does he call when he needs help too, and who picks up regardless of what has happened between them? Yes, they’re back everyone. They’re back and it’s in the best possible way. It’s hard not to believe after seeing these this footage.

The X-Files revival will premiere on Sunday, January 24th, 2016.

This was My Sunday Ritual, so can’t wait for the 6 shows. I was not disappointed by the Movies but also not that impressed with them either. I can’t see Anderson or Duchovny coming back unless the story line is as strong as the original since both have had strong careers since X Files ended!!!!
