Last month, I told you about Universal Studios Japan’s plans for “Universal Cool Japan,” that included cool exhibits and huge displays from the hit series “Neon Genesis Evangelion,” as well as the games Monster Hunter and the Biohazard (known in the U.S. as “Resident Evil”) franchise…
But I’m here today to talk about the “Attack on Titan” set up. Oh. My. God.
While I’m really jealous that I’ve not been there yet, the fine folks from MAiDiGiTV have! So, you’ll get to see the wonderfulness for yourself!
According to Anime News Network, visitors can eat how the Survey Corps eats, with choices including a meal of bacon, potato, “black tear-flavored brand” and soup (the Leader-level meal), or the bread, one potato, and soup meal that the regular soldiers/cadets eat. If I had money, I’d definitely go for the “Leader Meal” (because, bacon), but I understand why the hunger can lead cadets (like Sasha Blouse, below) to do things like eat a potato raw while standing at attention.
I want to go to there.
I have till May 10, 2015, so I better save up with a quickness! Oh, and speaking of May…
May 2nd is Free Comic Book Day and this year, U.S. fans are finally going to be able to get their hands on the crazy Avengers/Attack on Titan crossover comic that, up until now, has only been available in Japan!
Written by Marvel’s C.B. Cebulski and released last year, this one-shot, 8-page manga crossover is the first official Attack on Titan crossover, and the first official Marvel crossover with any kind of manga/anime property. According to the Shingeki No Kyojin (Japanese for “Attack on Titan”) wiki, the story is pretty straight across (and awesome).
When the Titans (Armored, Colossal, and Female) decide to invade Manhattan, Spider-Man and the Avengers (using the movie lineup: Iron Man, Black Widow, Captain America, Hulk, and Hawkeye — in case you’ve forgotten) are there to defend the city and stop the Titans from wreaking too much havoc.
I also spy some X-Men and Fantastic Four peeps! Sounds pretty friggin awesome, right? BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE!
Did I mention the Guardians of the Galaxy also join the fight? WOW!
Great googly moogly. I wants it. Hell, I needs it!
Free Comic Book Day is the first Saturday of every May, which this year is May 2nd. Universal Studios Japan’s “Universal Cool Japan” experience ends May 10th.
