‘Voltron: Legendary Defender’ Release Date and Cast Announced at WonderCon

By March 26, 2016

Fans of the classic ’80s cartoon Voltron were ecstatic when it was announced that Netflix would be producing a new animated series later this year. Yesterday at WonderCon, producers unveiled a quick teaser for the series as well as the cast line-up. Get your first look at Voltron: Legendary Defender below.

I don’t know much in the way of animation jargon, but I know what looks good and that, my friends, looks gooooooooood.

As for the cast, it features names from both live and animated TV, as well as video games and film. Looks like Voltron is in very capable hands:

Steven Yeun – Keith

Jeremy Shada – Lance

Bex Taylor-Klaus – Pidge

Josh Keaton – Shiro

Tyler Labine – Hunk

Kimberly Brooks – Princess Allura

Rhys Darby – Coran

Neil Kaplan – King Zarkon

Just in case you were curious, the character Shiro is taking the spot of Sven from the original series.

I don’t know about the rest of you, but I can’t wait to see my favorite robot lions combine to kick all sorts of Robeast ass.

Voltron: Legendary Defender comes to Netflix on June 10th.
