If you’ve been following Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice news, you’re probably already aware of the rumor that Kevin Smith wrote a fake script for the movie and leaked it to the media just to throw everyone off the scent of the real story. Smith has since come out and said that’s nonsense…but isn’t that exactly what you’d expect him to say if he really did write a fake screenplay? I don’t actually think he was commissioned to write a fake script for this movie – he’s too busy with Tusk and all of his other projects – but this constant back and forth of rumors just has me feeling a little burned out on Batman v Superman right now. Time to suck it up, though, because here’s another one for you: Doomsday might appear in the movie when it hits theaters two years from now.
Bleeding Cool reports that sources of theirs have seen designs for a Doomsday character in the Batman v Superman camp. Doomsday, of course, is the alien creature responsible for killing Superman in the famous “Death of Superman” comics run in the ’90s, and he appeared in the later seasons of “Smallville” as a major character, played by actor Sam Witwer. Bleeding Cool does mention that the designs could be for promotional use, for flashbacks in the movie, or that it may not end up making the final cut at all. With the way that Zack Snyder and his team have been constantly adding cast members, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if they went ahead and tossed Doomsday into the mix, and the fact that this is a plausible rumor is why I’m writing about it at all. Will we find out something at Comic-Con? If you believe the studio, the answer is no – but even though BVS isn’t on the official schedule, I’d bet big money that there will be some kind of surprise appearance anyway.
Do you want to see Doomsday in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice? I think at this point, I sort of hope that they just cram every conceivable character in just to make this movie as insane as possible.
