Although Warner Bros. had planned to show the teaser trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice at a special IMAX event this coming Monday, a bootlegged version of the trailer’s screening in another country made it onto the internet last night, spoiling some of the fun.
Now, though, director Zack Snyder has released an official version of the anticipated first look at his DC Comics-based team-up/fight film, in all of its “non-blurry” glory. Check it out below.

The trailer gives a strong look at the film by showing that Superman (Henry Cavill) has had to deal with the fallout of his actions depicted at the end of Man of Steel. As the world truly ponders the existence of an alien entity, especially one as powerful as Superman, another hero from this world steps up to apparently get to the bottom of what the Kryptonian truly represents for the people of Earth: the Dark Knight, Batman (Ben Affleck).
Snyder was quick to point out that while the official teaser is now available in pristine high definition on the internet, the people who have already printed passes to select IMAX events around the country will still be in for a special treat, by tweeting moments later that the trailer shown there will be exclusive to the event. Whether that means more footage or some other kind of first-look incentive is anyone’s guess.
As for the trailer itself, it looks very promising. Many fans had a problem with how Man of Steel ended its battle between Superman and General Zod, and it looks as though this new film will be tackling that issue head-on as opposed to merely sweeping it under the rug. By throwing other DC Universe characters like Batman, Lex Luthor, and Wonder Woman into the mix as well, this looks like it could be a solid start to the first live-action, official iteration of the DC Comics Universe.
